Traveling by caravan is a summer dream for many of us. Every year more and more family, friends and solo travelers discover the joy of taking their own home with them. Still, the first RV vacation can be a bit daunting. There are so many things to figure out! Road maps, needs, budget, the list goes on and on. Still, there is no need to worry. We have tried to help you with the do's and don'ts for your first trip, so let's take a look together:

Preparing for the Journey

Make sure that your vehicle is road-ready and that all devices in your caravan are working perfectly. It is also advisable to get internet for your caravan. Check the toilet seat and gaskets. Seal possible leaks and cracks in the walls.

Replace the batteries in your smoke detector.

Organize Your Luggage

Plan how much you will take, otherwise you may end up wasting space. Consider buying a roof rack for extended capacity. Your car should be equipped with GPS, a first aid kit, a rubber rug, tapes and the necessary tools.

Know What You Want

If you are new to this world, there are a few questions you should ask yourself before choosing your first motorhome. Before buying or renting, make sure it suits your needs. A family trip with kids? Or maybe with friends? A couple or a solo trip? The answer to these questions will narrow down your options according to your needs. Caravans come in many different shapes and sizes. Choosing the wrong one can ruin the whole adventure.

Let's take a look at some of their varieties:

Motorhomes are the largest and most expensive caravans. They are divided into three classes, A, B and C, according to their size. The interior and luggage space is very large. For this reason, it is more comfortable than other types. However, if you want to leave it somewhere and move around, it cannot be towed from the vehicle. Its size can be daunting for less experienced drivers.

Folding caravans(top half folds down) have been popular with people who like to tow a solid-sided caravan at a lower height, which reduces 'drag' and improves fuel economy, road stability and driver visibility.

Now set your route, then find the caravan that will appeal to you. And take a trip where you can move freely.
