Shandong: Shandong is one of the oldest regions. In this region, food is cooked with roasting method. Seafood is predominantly used and dishes are seasoned only with vinegar and salt.

Sichuan and Hunan: The Sichuan region is known as the most popular cuisine type in China . It consists of dishes with lots of hot spices.

Guangdong (Canton), Zhejiang, Jiangsu: The emphasis on preserving the natural flavor of food is the hallmark of these cuisines. Great seafood is usually sweet and mild in flavor. Stir-frying and braising are at the forefront, and they are also famous for their meats such as pork and duck.

Anhui and Fujian: The boiling method is used very often and cooking temperature is important. Roasted vegetables are not allowed to soften completely, and vegetables that are fried on the outside are usually left alive on the inside. Especially in Hui cuisine, wild herbs are predominantly used.

And last but not least, the indispensable chopsticks; all meals, except soups, are traditionally eaten with these chopsticks. Although it may seem difficult at first, after a few tries, it offers a pleasurable eating experience that will make you forget forks and knives.
