The gigantic statues on Mount Nemrut, which is 2150 meters high and still attracts attention with their magnificence today, were built by the Commagene Kingdom, which ruled here in the 1st century BC. This kingdom, which was established between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, first lived under the yoke of certain kingdoms and then declared its independence.
